Workspace Settings
Select File>Workspace Settings to display the Workspace Settings dialog, which allows customization of the following settings related to the current workspace:
Maximum Concurrent Transfers
Determines the maximum number of concurrent file transfers allowed for each host, where the valid range is between 1 and 15 and the default is 5.
Transfer Mode
Select Auto (default) to transfer files as ASCII based on the criteria specified in the Auto detect as ASCII files section, select ASCII to always transfer using ASCII mode, or select Binary to always transfer using binary mode.
Default Download Folder
If the Local Computer site tab is closed for any reason, this determines where files will be downloaded to. The default location is the user's Documents folder. However, a new location may be selected using the browse button, or manually enter an existing folder name. An error will display if an invalid or non-existing folder is entered.
Auto Detect as ASCII Files
The following criteria will determine which files will transfer as ASCII when Auto is selected for the Transfer Mode, otherwise these options are ignored:
Files with Extensions
File names ending with any of the listed extensions are transferred in ASCII mode. Each extension in the list must be separated by a semi-colon.
Files Without Extensions
Enable (default) to transfer files with no extension in ASCII mode.
Files Starting with a Dot
Enable (default) to transfer files that start with a dot in ASCII mode.
Interface
The following options are related to the workspace user interface:
File Lists
These options pertain to the files listed when displaying the contents of a folder:
The action to perform when a file in the list is double-clicked. Select Open/View to open the file, select Transfer (default) to start transferring the file, select Add to queue to add the file to the file transfer queue, or select None to do nothing and ignore the double-click.
Folder Double-Click Action
The action to perform with a folder in the list is double-clicked. Select Enter directory (default) to open the selected folder and display the contents, select Transfer to start transferring the entire folder including any sub-folders and/or files, select Add to queue to add the folder to the file transfer queue, or select None to do nothing and ignore the double-click.
When two or more sites are open simultaneously, determines the behavior to follow when double-click transfer or add to queue actions are performed. Select Always download to local computer to force the transfer to the local PC, or select Perform site-to-site transfer to allow transferring between two FTP sites.
Unsafe File Extensions
As a safety precaution, the user will be prompted before opening any file with the extensions listed here. A list of common unsafe extensions has been provided and any additional extensions added by the user should be separated by a semi-colon.
Site Tabs
These options pertain to the site tabs within the current workspace:
Show Icon
Enable (default) to display an icon on each site tab.
Show Close Button
Enable (disabled by default) to show a close button on each site tab.
Show Pin Button
Enable (disabled by default) to show a pin button on each site tab.
Show Quick Connect Group
Enable (default) to display the Quick Connect group on the Home ribbon tab, or disable to hide.
Play a Sound on Errors
Enable (default) to play a sound to alert when any error occurs.
Reset All
Click the Reset All button to revert all setting to default and remain on the Workspace Settings page.
OK
Click OK to save all Workspace Settings changes and return to the current workspace.
Cancel
Click Cancel to ignore all Workspace Settings changes and return to the current workspace.
